Frequently asked questions

How do I know if my denture needs relining?

Relines on average are recommended every 3-4 years. Once your dentures begin to feel loose or has a lot of movement and is creating soreness on your gums it is time for them to be checked by a professional.

Can my denture be repaired?

As long as you have all the pieces of your denture then it is highly likely it can be repaired without requiring an appointment Through our mobile denture service we are happy to take your dentures from you and return them repaired later that day.

In the case of your denture having missing pieces from the break, it can still be repaired but you may need to make appointment with our mobile prosthetist. This way we can take impressions and fix your denture with 100% accuracy.

If a tooth has broken off and you managed to keep the tooth, it can be reattached onto full and partial dentures. All you need to do is phone our mobile service 0422 244 044, we will come to you and handle the rest.

If you have lost the denture tooth completely a new one can be added without requiring an impression as long as it is a full denture.

If it is a partial denture and you have lost a tooth you will need to make an appointment with our mobile prosthetist for impressions. That way a new tooth can be added with precision and the dentures be as comfortable as possible.

How long do dentures take to be made?

The process of manufacturing acrylic dentures utilising our mobile denture service will take between 1 to 2 weeks from our first visit to last. Chrome dentures which are sometimes known as metal dentures take slightly longer, requiring 3 to 4 weeks.

Can you add teeth to my denture?

Yes! Teeth can be added to dentures. If you recently had an extraction a general rule of thumb is to wait at least 2-4 weeks for the gums to settle and heal. The longer you wait the better. Then we can visit you, take impressions and refit the denture for you all in the same day.

How do I know if I need new dentures?

Generally, a new set is recommended every 8-10 years. You will know when it is time for a replacement once the denture teeth are worn down, they don’t fit as well as they used to and are becoming increasingly uncomfortable to wear.
